I’ve had my adventure –
the slip, the skid,
the fall, the wounds.
You watched them all,
with grief and pain.

What, if not love,
makes you stay by my side,
healing the burns.

What, if not love,
calms me down, subdue
so you now own me.

Who, if not you
To put out the fire
That charred me within.
