A relatively new slang term, this fun unofficial word means “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination”. Coddiwomple reminds us that the future is uncertain, and even if we have an exact destination in mind, there’s no guarantee that we will get there. Coddiwomple encourages us to keep going, even in the midsts of the inevitable frustrations and confusions of life, and to accept changes as enhancements to our journey as they arise. It focuses on the pleasures of the journey, rather than the rewards of the destination. This word originated online in the late 2010s.
