I once had a friend,
overflowing with liveliness,
the end lived inside of him,
and thrived upon his cells.

A blue eyed boy,
carefree and wild,
with the world at his feet,
whenever he smiled.

His friendship was a treasure,
amidst this stormy weather;
missed forever,
since that day in September.
