She looked into the mirror- “Is it still me?
That same old me?” she questioned.
“Not any more”,
she replied with an inner sigh.
Gently feeling the skin around her face,
she looked deeper, getting closer to the mirror.
Those little wrinkles around her eyes were looking good on her.
She smiled with a sparkle in her eyes- yet again,
walking away from the mirror,
resuming unfinished business,
drawing the positives from the blemishes,
mumbling to herself- “ageing feels graceful.”
As Jimmy Buffet said,
“Wrinkles will only go where the smiles have been.”
