Lydia Fortescue, a young woman in search of a suitable husband loses all hope when she receives a message from this young man William Montgomery, a message that changes her life and her views about men and marriage. William who has been attending the same balls as Lydia for the last five seasons finally finds the right moment to express his profound admiration for this beautiful and intelligent young woman, Miss Fortescue. And when he gathers the courage to write a message for her speaking of his feelings, luck doesn’t seem to play well on his side, and it all ends up in a big mess.

Post the message incident, William tries to get things straight with Lydia but time has a way to add some more adventure in both their lives as circumstances take unexpected turns. With new adventures, they both get to know the not-so-known facts about each other. They also discover new versions of themselves and gain an all-new sight to look at life.

But is the couple fated to be together? Do their misunderstandings clear up, or they live on with the lies? The answers to these questions will be revealed only when you have read the book.

For me, this historic romance fiction was fun, and yes, it kept me stuck till the end. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest score and 10 being the highest), I would rate Waltz of the Wallflower: Decent Hearts Book 1 an 8 for the nice, sweet, and curious romance displayed all through the story.

Waltz of the Wallflower, is a good, light read. The romance set in between the crazy incidents is dreamy yet realistic. At some point, Catherine will make you bite your nails out of curiosity, and at other times, she’ll give you the unexpected twist.
