‘Drift and Fall Again’, written by Madsonik for the final scene of the thriller film ‘Criminal’, was released in April 2016. The song features evocative vocals by Yael Shoshana Cohen- the singer of Israeli indie duo, Lola Marsh.
Madsonik (an alias for Brian Theodore Tyler), is America’s successful film composer, songwriter, musician, arranger, and producer. He is known for his film and television scores. Having scored more than 70 films including Avengers: Age of Ultron, Furious 7, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, The Expendables, Rambo, and many more, Tyler is known to create a large variety of musical sounds on various instruments.
‘Drift and Fall Again’ makes you go through a wide range of emotions- what it is like to feel regret and hope at the same time. Making the tune be able to make one’s soul cry and smile at the same time, it is some commendable work. The vocals and chords are powerful, making it a brilliant and thought-provoking song. The soundtrack being potent with love, emotion, and pain takes you somewhere far from the real in its mysterious and absolutely captivating melody.
The song accompanied the final scene of Criminal so perfectly that many who watched the film looked up the search engines for it. So when Tyler said, “We all drift in life, we all fall again and again. But that is what makes the journey meaningful at the end of the day. So I tried to get that across with this song. If people connect to this song that would be incredible!”, he had achieved the purpose.
After all the love he received for this rendition, Madsonik took to YouTube to thank his fans- “A huge thank you for the love about the song! It means a lot. I suppose I should keep making more!” he wrote.
