Modern life is hectic and relentless: trains delayed, endless emails filling the inbox, kids squabbling before bedtime, endless to-do lists… There has never been a more important time to rediscover your pause button.
Absolutely everyone can achieve calm – including you – and in this book you’ll learn how to take back a little bit of peace, space and all-important time for yourself. Using a mixture of creative prompts, activities, instructions and inspiration, this wonderful book will open your eyes to the pleasure and richness of your everyday life.
Take a walk with nowhere to go, savour a chocolate on the tip of your tongue, get lost in a maze, pick a leaf or press a flower, turn off your phone for five short minutes. In short, this book is an inspirational, practical and pleasurable guide to twenty-first century mindfulness. It consists of simple tools, tricks and habits that will change the rest of your life and contains no rules – you make it whatever you want it to be.
This book has eight sections -Nature, Sleep, Travel, Relationships, Work, Children, Creativity and Food – but it isn’t designed for you to read in a linear way. You can dip in and out of it, try the exercises you like the look of, or leaf through it when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
