‘World Spins Madly On’ is a song released in the year 2005 by an American band- The Weepies. The song is written by the husband-wife duo-Steven Tannen and Deborah R. Talan, the two members of the band.
The music is simple with a gentle guitar strumming and the vocals are soft to suit the feel of the song which is essentially about the shattering pain arising from the loss of a loved one. It shows the apathy of the singer, feeling depressed and numb, in deep and intense grief. He wakes up feeling hopeless and overwhelmed in his crumbling world wishing for death, realizing that the best times of his life are gone. His life has no meaning now, his world is on a standstill.
While all his hope and joy in this world is gone, he sadly wonders how everything around him just keeps going- the ‘World Spins Madly on’. Original version released in 2005 is given below..
Yet another popular interpreted video by Ryan Woodward of the same song is displayed below as well..
And last but not the least, the cover song released by Joshua Hyslop..
