The-All-Girl Band- TAG Band, Pakistan’s first all-girl band is worthy of applause. Changing narratives and breaking gender stereotypes, this band comprising of five determined girls was formed in 2016 with a vision to raise awareness about women’s rights in their country and empower women through the power of music. We wish more power to these young, progressive girls.
Here we share with you TAG’s mashup cover, one of their finest works.
‘Are You with Me’ is a song written by Tommy Lee James, Terry A. McBride and Shane L. McAnally, sung by country singer Easton Corbin in the year 2012. And subsequently by Lost Frequencies in the year 2016. This song resonates with each one of us because at some point of time in our lives we all seek someone to answer this- ‘Are you with Me?’
‘Laree Choote’ is a song from Bollywood’s 2007 movie, ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last Local’, written, sung and composed by Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan a.k.a. Xulfi, a member of the Pakistani rock band ‘Call’. The protagonist misses the last train of the day, and in a fraction of a few hours his life changes. Through this song, he narrates how destiny takes him through an unknown and unpredictable life.
We hope you enjoy this rendition.
